Cabeza fría, hot wheels.
(Cool head, hotweels).Photographic series, 2019 - present.
Research and photographic documentation that seeks to collect images of the intimacy and ways of life generated on the road around the journeys of cargo truck drivers. Using the possibility of traveling aboard such trucks being the co-pilot and assistant of the operators, I find myself making an archive of images that portray the moments of displacement, the journey, the road, the landscapes that are left behind and the trucks in movement as well as the resting places, the moments of downtime between destination and destination, leisure, camaraderie among colleagues, and the static trucks posing in front of the camera almost as a subject who knows he is portrayed.
Cool head, hot wheels is a phrase used in common driver slang, expressing the tension that exists between going fast to meet arrival appointments and the importance of staying focused and attentive on the trip.
