Volando bajo, pero nunca solo.

(Flying low,
but never alone.)

Installation, 2024

“Primero Dios que volveré” is a very common phrase in Latin America, especially in jobs that have to do with transportation. I used a truck tarp as a support for the phrase to point out and emphasize how such phrases are used as a kind of declaration that takes care of them. This piece works by generating an almost magical link between the phrase as an amulet and the tarp as a protective mantle. The installation with the strings generates even more tension in the phrase that is already strong on its own.
